CPC1030NTR Relays

Solid State relays (SSRs) are a type of relay that provide same switching functions as regular mechanical switches, but their structure is totally different. They are constructed with semiconductor devices like transistors, thyristors, and other switching circuits that can control the amount of the current passing through them. and and activated by a power signal, instead of mechanical force. The CPC1030NTR is a SSR from Crydom, that has been designed to provide load switching to control the operation of various loads in sensitive electronic applications.

The CPC1030NTR mainly used in a wide range of applications that require high-speed turn on/off and low ON resistance. such as HVAC systems, domestic appliances like washing machine and dishwasher, audio or video systems, technical instruments, industrial manufacturing machines, medical equipments, automotive to railway industry, and so on.

Working Principle

The CPC1030NTR SSR is mainly composed of three elements, including a control circuit, an LED module, and a semiconductor module. When an external control voltage is applied to the control circuit, it will stimulate and energize the internal semiconductor module which then act like a regular mechanical switch - but no physical movement occur since the switching is done through the electron flow. Within milliseconds, the LED module is then lit to signal a successful switching event.

Moreover, the CPC1030NTR features an integrated zero voltage load turning on function (zero-cross operation) thus eliminating the switching of high current/voltage spikes and the generated electromagnetic interference (EMI) and surge. In addition, the internal thermal protection module monitors the operation temperature inside the SSR, if it\'s too high, the thermal protection will cut off the on-off switch until the unit reaches a normal working temperature again.
