CS42516-DQZR Application Field and Working Principle
CS42516-DQZR is a non-return-to-zero (NRZ) low-voltage differential signalling (LVDS) multirate serial link physical layer integrated circuit (IC) used mainly in data communications applications. The CS42516-DQZR provides an industry standard interface between a physical cabling layer and multiple serial interfaces, such as a Line Interface Unit (LIU) and a framer. It can be used to provide high-speed communication on a single pair of twisted-pair cables, as well as support communication within a local area network (LAN).The CS42516-DQZR is a highly integrated IC for LVDS physical layer communications that provides the physical layer interface for the functional layers above. The incoming parallel data from the external circuitry is first sent to the SDI pin, where it is converted into serial data using the SCI pin as clock source. The CDR also serves to detect and correct errors in the data stream and correct them according to predefined error correction algorithms.The Latch is a flip-flop circuit that stores the value of the incoming data for a predefined amount of time and then passes it on to the next stage of the communication chain. The Latch enables the recovery of data from the CDR, thus allowing communication at higher speeds.The CS42516-DQZR can be used in various types of communication applications, such as network switch and router interfaces, storage-area networks, automotive Ethernet, and multimedia displays.
