CS4362-KQZR is an audio-to-digital-to-analog converter (ADC/DAC) IoT device intended for applications in audio production. It is a mixed-mode integrated circuit, combining analog and digital circuits to enable full-duplex transmission of digital audio streams over a network. The device provides a single-ended I/O port with a simultaneous digital output at 24 bits.

The device performs sampling and Analog-to-Digital (A/D) conversion operations in two parallel stages. Firstly, the input signal is sampled via an internal sample rate clock and keyed into a 12-bit sigma-delta modulated A/D converter. This converter then digitizes the signal by performing signal-to-noise ratio optimization, followed by signal processing for dynamic range control and time-frequency conversion, to a final data rate of 192 kHz.
The output of the A/D converter is then transmitted to a 24-bit DAC for Digital-to-Analog (D/A) conversion. The DAC is optimized for high-resolution playback and low distortion. It reassembles the signal from the converter and transforms it into an analog signal via a low-distortion, low-noise architecture.
The CS4362-KQZR also provides a dynamic range adjustment feature that acts as a gain control. This feature allows the user to adjust the signal level of the digital/analog output over a fixed range of 0 dB to 63 dB. The device pre-calibrates the dynamic range and provides a wide-ranging adjustable dynamic range. This helps to ensure that digital signal signals remain within their dynamic range and accuracy is improved.
