Thyristors - SCRs

A Thyristor is a semiconductor device with four layers of alternating N and P-type material. It has three terminal connections, referred to as Anode, Gate and Cathode. Among the many different types of Thyristor available, one of the simplest and most commonly used is the Thyristor or Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR).
