CSDL4U (Compressed Sensing Digital Level For Underground Cables) is a method of measuring the underground level of cables. It is a non-destructive testing technology that delivers accurate and reliable measurements with limited sampling of cables. It has been developed by Industrial Data Research Institute (IDRI) in collaboration with Siemens and NHH.

Together, both the sensitizer and receiver amplify the signal, allowing the CSDL4U to provide an accurate reading in less time than traditional methods.

Sensitization is done by changing the frequency of the signal, the modulation, and the amplitude. This allows the receiver to detect the signal amplitude of the transmitted signal more accurately. By applying the added sensitivity to the receiver, the CSDL4U will measure the depth to an accuracy of up to 0.01%.
