Current transducers, also known as electric current sensors, are electrical devices that accurately measure and monitor direct current and alternating current (AC). A current transformer (CT) is an instrument transformer used for current measurement and power monitoring. The differential transformer principle involves two coil windings developed on the same iron core, with one of the primary windings adapted to receive the primary current of the electric circuit whose value has to be measured. The following secondary winding derives an output voltage proportional to the square of the primary current. Therefore, CSLA2CD features high accuracy in current measurement. Additionally, CSLA2CD features good overload capacity, since its output voltage is independent of the power factor and, hence, reacts linearly to the overloads, regardless of the variation in the power factor.
