The device has TTL-compatible input and output logic levels, and provides high speed performance. It also features high output drive, low power consumption, and bus hold on data inputs eliminating the need for external pull-up or pull-down resistors.

The CY74FCT245ATQCT operates from a single +5V supply. The inputs can be driven from either 3.3V or 5V devices. All inputs are equipped with protection circuits that prevent damage due to electrostatic discharge (ESD). The device has separate output enable pins for each group of four ports that allow data to be safely stored on the bus. The device is fully compatible with industry standards such as the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) Bus., VHDL and EISA Bus.
