The CY7B991-7JXCT is a clock buffer/driver designed for applications requiring low input to output clock skew and high operating frequency. This device is capable of driving up to two fully differential or up to eight single-ended outputs from one differential or two single-ended inputs.The CY7B991-7JXCT offers low clock skew between the input and output(maximum skew is just a few nanoseconds), high operating frequency up to 5 MHz, while operating temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C. This clock buffer/driver is also capable of receiving dual rate clock inputs. Additionally, the CY7B991-7JXCT features integrated power-dissipation control, ensuring reduced power consumption.
The CY7B991-7JXCT is built on a BGA (Ball Grid Array) package, which allows more accurate quarter-pitch placement of fine-pitch solder balls. This allows for enhanced electrical performance and reduced output capacitance. The CY7B991-7JXCT supports a wide range of outputs, including LVDS, HSTLClass I/II/III, SSTL, PCI, and CANbus.
The working principle of the CY7B991-7JXCT is based on the transmission of a single differential or two single-ended input clock signals. The differential clock signals allow the user to switch between high frequency clock signals and enable increased clock stability by reducing jitter, also known as signal distortion.
