CYW20732S is a Long Range Low Power Wireless Microcontroller with Bluetooth 4.1 for IoT applications. This transceiver IC is designed to allow wireless device connectivity that makes integrating Bluetooth into embedded wireless projects simple and cost effective. It offers low-energy Bluetooth five times the range of the previous Bluetooth 4.0 standard with less power consumption.

The CYW20732S has a rich set of features including a local controller interface, an integrated 32-bit MCU, an integrated Bluetooth radio and 15 GPIOs. It also supports both Bluetooth 4.1 and Bluetooth LE protocols, and allows a range of up to 100 meters in line of sight transmission at 1 Mbps data rate.

In addition, the outdoor range can be extended up to 400 meters with more antennas and higher sensitivity. The device also offers eight user-defined profiles for connectivity between devices as well as an advanced Bluetooth LE advertising mode. The integrated MCU can offer an operating speed up to 48 MHz using an ARM® Cortex®-M0 core.

CYW20732S works on the basic principle of radio communication. Radiofrequency (RF) signal is used to transmit and receive data from two different transceivers. The transceiver takes the digital data and converts it into RF signal which is transmitted via an antenna.
