DACs, short for digital to analog converters, are components that convert digital signals to analog signals.Modern converters use a variety of techniques to convert digital data into a stream of analog current or voltage that can be used by analog circuitry. Among these devices are DACs such as the Texas Instruments DAC8581EVM. This evaluation module (EVM) is used to evaluate Texas Instruments DC8581 High-Speed 12-Bit DACs.

The DAC8581EVM is an analog-to-digital converter featuring a Programmable Gain Amplifier (PGA), a digital input receiver, an 8-bit data segment select register, a gain control section and an internal DAC channel.
