DC1441A is a versatile low cost evaluation board specifically designed to understand the details and advantages of using high voltage rectified, regulated power solutions. It is intended for Single Output, off-line, DC/DC and AC/DC switching mode power supplies (SMPS) and is an ideal platform for the design, analysis, and evaluation of circuits. The DC1441A Evaluation Board is provided with two AC/DC reference designs and three DC/DC reference designs as examples.
The DC1441A Evaluation Board features a 24V primary DC input and an easy to use flexible programmable TRIAC interface that can be easily adapted to any application. It also has a built-in relay driver, a variety of programmable parameters, a user-configurable 35W output power and a programmable analog output.
The board features a low ripple output which is managed through an integrated control loop. This loop is managed by a DC/AC converter which is made up of a FET and an error amplifier. The FET is switched on and off to regulate the output voltage. The control loop will also adjust the power limit of the output based on the current delivered by the AC/DC converter. This will maintain a low ripple with the efficiency of the output power.
The power stages of the DC1441A Evaluation Board are driven by a PWM oscillator with adjustable frequencies and a low-cost controller. The variable frequency can be adjusted depending on the application and this allows for a wider range of delivery capabilities. The board also features a robust input protection system, which consists of a fuse, MOV and optocoupler. This ensures that the board is safe for use in various power applications.
The DC1441A Evaluation Board also features an onboard digital power controller. This controller allows users to configure the output voltage with external programming and also offers adjustable current limit, power limits, and temperature shutdown, making it ideal for control the output in a variety of conditions.
