DC1831A is an evaluation board specifically designed for LED driver applications. It is the first board of its kind to feature high-voltage surface mount components and an integrated MOSFET, which makes it ideal for testing with LEDs. DC1831A has been designed with a wide range of safety features and wide LED voltage compatibility from 10V to 30V to accommodate almost all LED applications.The DC1831A evaluation board is powered by a linear current regulator, the LM3125, for maximum control accuracy. The board includes programmable turn-on, strobe or adjustable current set-point, adjustable dimming and pulse-width modulation (PWM) control. The device features an integrated power MOSFET with a maximum power rating of 600W, which is capable of driving up to 16 LEDs for various applications.The DC1831A provides users with an easy-to-use environment for LED driver applications. The board is fully populated with components that are pre-tested and ready to use. The board also includes an on-board DC-to-DC converter, which allows it to be powered from a single DC input voltage. The DC1831A\'s working principle is based on Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). It works by varying the width of the applied pulse to the power MOSFET in order to control the amount of power delivered to the LED. This is done by setting the duty cycle of the output signal. For example, if the duty cycle is set to 50%, the power MOSFET will be ON for half of the time and OFF for the other half, resulting in an average output power and current that’s half of the maximum values.The DC1831A also features an adjustable current set-point, which allows the device to be used in applications that require a specific current level. By adjusting the current set-point, the proportion of the time that the MOSFET is ON is adjusted to maintain the desired current. The board includes various options for the user to select the operating mode, including dimming or strobe mode.The DC1831A evaluation board can be used to control a variety of LED applications, such as street lighting, automotive lighting and architectural lighting. It is also suitable for industrial lighting, billboard lighting and any other application that requires an adjustable current regulator.
