The DC1953A Evaluation Board is a key component of Evaluation Boards for DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. This tool is designed and manufactured by Traco Power, a leading supplier of power solutions. This board is used to understand, develop, and demonstrate the features and capabilities of DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) switching power supplies.

The DC1953A Evaluation Board provides high levels of performance with multiple output configurations, highly reliable operation without significant additional component costs. The DC1953A Evaluation Board is used to demonstrate both continuous mode and discontinuous mode such as flyback converter topologies. This Evaluation Board is based on the application of a gate-controlled switch, typically a MOSFET, running in a dual-mode operation. When a high input voltage is applied to the primary side, the main switch turns on and the magnetic stored energy is released which generates an output voltage when it is regulated by the secondary control. As the incoming voltage drops, the main switch turns off and instead the magnetic stored energy is released again to drive the circuit.

The DC1953A Evaluation Board is designed to be compatible with most standard industry components and provides Digital Voltage Control (DVC) to allow for precise voltage control, flexibility, and scalability. The DVC feature enables multiple output configurations, including linear and PWM, allowing users to develop designs that range from the simplest to the most complex.
