The DC767A is an evaluation board from Texas Instruments with an external AC input. It is used in applications which require either a DC/DC or AC/DC (off-line) power supply solution. The board is capable of providing both fixed and adjustable output via variable components on the board itself.
The DC767A can be either a DC/DC or AC/DC power supply. When set up as a DC/DC power supply, the board accepts an external DC input voltage of either 9V, 12V, or 15V. Once this external voltage is applied, an adjustable regulator and feedback circuit is used to regulate the output voltage. This regulator is capable of outputting from 0V to 12V, with a maximum load current of 1A. In addition, an adjustable current output is provided, and is adjusted using potentiometers connected to the board.
When the board is set up to be an AC/DC power supply, it accepts an external AC input voltage of either 24V, 36V, or 48V, and then steps it down to a fixed DC output voltage of either 9V, 12V, or 15V. This output can be adjusted with a voltage trim potentiometer located on the board. The output load current is limited to 1A.
In addition to the adjustable output voltage range and current limit, the board is also capable of providing protection features such as input over-voltage protection, output short-circuit protection, and thermal protection. These features are provided to ensure the safety of the users as well as to prevent damage to the board itself.
The DC767A evaluation board is an ideal solution for those looking for an off-line power supply solution for their application. Its adjustable setpoints and protection features make it a great choice for applications requiring a reliable and customized power supply solution.
