The DC851A-B Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) Evaluation Board is designed to provide engineers with the necessary hardware to evaluate the performance and features of a 12-bit bipolar ADC. It provides a convenient and simple way to evaluate how well the ADCs operate under various conditions.The evaluation board is built around the MCP19113A-M evaluation board, featuring a single-ended 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with adjustable gain. The device offers a fast conversion rate of up to 1 MSPS and a wide input voltage range of ±4.2 V. The board also includes a low-dropout (LDO) 3.3V, 11V, and/or 5V switching power regulator, as well as an adjustable voltage reference. The DC851A-B allows users to quickly and easily evaluate the performance of the 12-bit ADC by quickly changing the analog input signal.The working principle of the DC851A-B ADC Evaluation Board is based on an open-loop sample-and-hold (S/H) circuit. The analog signal is first sampled by a Sample and Hold (S/H) circuit with two complementary FETs. The sample is then converted to a digital code by the ADC at the sample rate and sent to the output buffer, which is a 3-state output buffer. The output buffer stores the digital code and drives it out as an open-drain output, allowing several ADCs to be connected together to operate as a multichannel ADC system.The application field of DC851A-B is mainly in analog-to-digital signal conversion, signal processing and other high-speed signal conversion applications. It is suitable for environments that require very low power, high accuracy, and fast data acquisition.
