The DC950A-B Evaluation Boards are designed to be used with LCD, LED, and TFT display modules. This board, which takes as inputs DC12V/3A, acts as a DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. The resulting regulation is pure DC with no AC ripple or noise. The onboard pull-down resistors enable the user to select the buck or boost configuration before the start of the system. The board has two types of output configurations, viz., constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC). Moreover, this board is designed to protect against circuit contact failure, short-circuit, and over current, among other things. Working principleThe DC950A-B Evaluation Boards utilise a constant frequency, low voltage loss, and precision voltage feedback loop and achieve efficient conversion. This is done using a step-down transformer, an inductor and a bridge rectifier. The inductor helps to transfer the current from the input side to the output side, while the step-down transformer reduces the output voltage. The bridge rectifier converts the AC voltage to DC voltage and also provides more power. The voltage regulator circuit consists of an error amplifier, a voltage reference, an optocoupler, and a multi-stage regulator circuit. The error amplifier compares the voltage reference level and the measured voltage and adjusts the output voltage accordingly. The optocoupler provides the feedback signal between the error amplifier and the regulator. The regulator circuit uses a multi-stage buck-boost converter to control the output voltage. The output voltage is kept constant through continuous voltage feedback and current-limiting circuit. The DC950A-B Evaluation Board is designed to meet the UL 60950 standard. It is compact and lightweight and requires minimum number of components. It is also environment friendly, has a high energy-conversion efficiency and provides a wide input and output voltage range. To protect the board from overvoltage, overcurrent, overload, and short circuit, the DC950A-B Evaluation Board has an integrated protection circuit. Overall, the DC950A-B Evaluation board is an invaluable asset in the field of DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. It is safe, reliable and energy-efficient, and provides a wide range of input and output voltages.
