Working Principle of DEMOKITCRX14

DEMOKITCRX14 is a complete UHF RFID tag evaluation system, consisting of a reader board, a reader antenna, a tag antenna and a tag IC. The reader board is based on the Infineon UHFINECTM 2U platform, which is a standardized hardware interface for data exchange between the reader board and the tag ICs. The tag IC is an ISO18000-63 mode 4 and EPCglobal UHF Class 1 Gen2 compliant IC and consists of a 64-bit UID RAM, an EPC RAM and a VTAG RAM.

When a reader and tag antenna are connected with the reader board and tag IC, the DEMOKITCRX14 works as below: First, the reader emits a Radio Frequency (RF) signal which is received by the tag antenna. Then the tag IC modulates the RF by using a Manchester Encoding scheme and feeds back the encoded data back to the reader antenna. The reader board demodulates the RF signal and stores the data in the Memory of Tag ICs. Finally, the reader board can communicate with the host PC and transfer the data to the PC for further analysis.
