The SCA3100-D04 demo application offers many functions that can be utilized by users in their engineering projects. This demonstration application is based on the SCA3100-D04 inertial measurement unit (IMU) powered by STMicroelectronics. This application can be used to demonstrate the basic application and working principle of ST’s IMU products.
The SCA3100-D04 demo application is a board with an embedded system-on-chip (SoC) and a set of sensors for triaxial acceleration, angular velocity, and tilt angle measurements. It provides a real-time solution for a wide range of IMU-related applications such as navigation, attitude heading, unmanned vehicle navigation, human body motion tracking, gesture recognition, robotic system stabilization, and vibration analysis. The board can be powered by either an on-board adapter or a USB cable. It also contains an onboard LCD for displaying information.
The demo application can be used to measure the triaxial acceleration, angular velocity, and tilt angle by means of the on-board sensors. The tilt angle can be measured using either a basic tilt angle measurement or a true tilt angle measurement. The acceleration and angular velocity can also be measured using the on-board sensors. Furthermore, the SCA3100-D04 demo also includes an on-board Raspberry Pi3 single board computer. The board can be connected to the host machine and used to receive data from the IMU.
