Working Principle:

The DG1413EQ-T1-GE3 contains a series of banks connected in parallel through signal distribution paths. Each bank comprises two analog switches with a maximum nominal open resistance of 10 ohms, two signal level shift resistors, and two wide dynamic range signal attenuators. A signal is passed from one bank to the other by a signal switch shifting the signal level from one bank to the other. The signal path is provided by an on-chip microcontroller which monitors the gain and signal level of each bank for optimized signal path operation.

By using the two signal level shift resistors, the voltage levels at the different banks are kept constant over the whole range from VDD to GND, enabling a stable signal path. The wide dynamic range signal attenuators further enhance signal performance, allowing the signal to be transmitted in a linear fashion over the whole range. The microcontroller then continuously monitors the signal level and adjusts the gain and signal level shift resistors to ensure optimal signal performance.

The analog switches in the DG1413EQ-T1-GE3 are designed only for single-pole, single-throw operation. Each bank has two switches connected in series, allowing the signal to be switched from one bank to the other. The analog switches are designed to be very fast in operation, with a switch time of up to 10 ns. This ensures that no signal distortions are induced during switching, thus providing the best performance possible.
