The DG201ADY is a monolithic integrated circuit whose application field and working principle are suited for those of an analog switch, multiplexer, demultiplexer. An analog switch, multiplexer, or demultiplexer, referred to as a switch, is an electronic device which can connect one, or multiple, inputs to one, or multiple, outputs. A switch can also be used to isolate one, or multiple parts of a circuit. DG201ADY, a switch with low charge injection, is ideal for data acquisition systems sample-and-hold circuits, and digital-to-analog (D/A) converter circuits.
The DG201ADY consists of eight single channel, three pole, analog switches with low charge injection and low ON resistance. It has an enable input that is used to turn ON or OFF all the switches, and a common enable enable control pin. This makes the DG201ADY an ideal choice for a multiplexer, demultiplexer, or a single pole, multiple throw (SPST) switch. The DG201ADY is designed such that the typical on-resistance is low enough for accurate signal switching applications, and for low-power, single-supply and split-supply operation. Furthermore, the device has a temperature range of -65°C to +150°C.
The working principle of the DG201ADY is based on the CMOS technology which provides extended Analog and Digital switching bandwidth. The device can be used to switch a wide range of analog signals. The wide operating temperature and low on-resistance make this device an ideal choice for switching signals in demanding data acquisition applications. These devices are designed to protect the system from EMI/RFI interference which can occur in a typical switching application. This can be achieved by using appropriate shielding techniques.
The DG201ADY is also equipped with a reset function that allows the device to recover from an erroneous state without the need to pull and plug in cables. This reset allows the user to reset all the switches in the device at the same time. Finally, the device also has a fail-safe feature which causes all the switches to be open when all enable pins are held LOW. This prevents incorrect connections when the the device is powered on and the enable pins are left open.
The applications of the DG201ADY include data acquisition systems, sample and hold circuit, D/A converters, digital isolators and isolators for current loop applications. It can be used in both single supply and split supply operation. Because of its wide temperature range and low ON-resistance value, it is ideal for use in applications which require reliable operation and a very low noise floor.
