The DG406DYZ-T is a chip widely used in the field of Interface - Analog Switches, Multiplexers, Demultiplexers. It is a single monolithic CMOS device providing four independent high-performance, low on-resistance, bi-directional analog/data switches. DG406DYZ-T offers us logical high signals on four select inputs with these features: it can handle 2V to 11V differential data peak-to-peak, 14ns tPA / tPB propagation delay, and –3dB bandwidth up to 1GHz excluding loading. These bi-directional switches feature low on-resistance and low power usage.

These devices are designed as per JEDEC rules and specified to operate from a single 5 volt power supply, with power dissipation of 0.36 mW/switch (max). They are packaged in 24-Pin TSSOP leads package, which provides a compact design in just 5.1mm x 8.2mm area. The maximum surge current rating is 100mA for 1µs for these switches. The operating temperature can range from -40°C to +85°C.

DG406DYZ-T is able to switch analog signals up to ±15V. These bi-directional switches can directly handle TTL & CMOS logic transitions within 5V. And each switch can handle differential data voltages up to 11V. It includes a power-down feature that allows it to disable all switches simultaneously.

The working principle of the DG406DYZ-T is quite simple. There are four individual bi-directional switches on the chip. Each switch is controlled by a single digital control signal. When the digital control signal is a "low" level, the switch is fast, and has a low on-resistance.
