The DG408AK/883B is an integrated high-speed analog switch or multiplexer/demultiplexer which is a member of the DG400 high-performance analog switch family. The device consists of individual channels with an each channel able to switch either high-speed or low-level signals. The single toggle control pin can be the input low or high and determine the state of the analog switch.
The DG408AK/883B is suitable for multiplexing applications, such as a voltage-controlled gate, as an analog switch, as a multiplexer/demultiplexer, and as an audio switch. Each channel of the analog switch is capable of switching both low-level signals up to +0.5V and high-speed signals up to 12 Mbits/s.
The DG408AK/883B multiplexer/demultiplexer is designed to efficiently switch a single input to one of eight outputs. When used as an analog switch, the device has one input and eight outputs, each of which can be switched between on and off states with a single logic signal. The outputs of the device are all connected to the same voltage supply and the digital logic input is used to control the output switching voltage. With a relatively low count of three input pins, the device offers great flexibility for designing audio and video switching systems.
The DG408AK/883B device also has a simple working principle. When the digital input is low the Analog switch will be turned off, so all of the outputs will be the same voltage. When the digital input is pulled high, the analog switch will be turned on, so the output will be pulled to the same voltage as the input voltage. The analog switch can be used as a single-pole, eight-way multiplexer/demultiplexer, which means that the switch is capable of simultaneously connecting one input to multiple outputs.
