The DG408CJ+ device is an analog switch or multiplexer/demultiplexer integrated circuit from Analog Devices, Inc. It is one of the most widely used integrated circuits for switching and mux/demux applications. It is designed for low power applications and consists of an array of individually-controllable switches and buffers.

The device contains four controlled switches (each one of a kind), two bidirectional buffer amplifiers, and three logic buffers. All the elements are interconnected by a flexible architecture that allows the user to configure the switching array to work as a multiplexer, demultiplexer or both, depending on the application.

The DG408CJ+ device operates from a single-ended supply voltage of 4.5 V to 5.5 V and can be used for switching applications up to 25 MHz for frequencies between DC and 1 MHz. The automatic switching is a bit different, as the user has to programmed the switching array to the desired configuration, like the multiplexer, demultiplexer or a combination of the two. This programming is done through a logic signal, ST. When the logic signal ST is applied, the circuits select the appropriate switch configuration according to the data conveyed by the ST signal. The connections between the input and output are established based on the switching configuration data.
