The DG408EUE is a digital analog multiplexer (MUX) consisting of 4 analog multiplexers. The DG408EUE is offered in a 16 pin SMD package and is suitable for a wide variety of applications. It features a high common mode impedance, low on-chip leakage currents and low power consumption.

The DG408EUE has 8 analog input circuit paths and 4 switching channels, that is, 4 analog control signals can be generated from 1, 2 or 4 sources depending on the configuration. It accepts 0 - 10V signals and switches between a maximum of four paths, depending on the selected control switchers.

Application Fields

The DG408EUE can be used in a variety of applications, such as, test systems, motor control, audio/video distribution, audio amplifiers, telecommunications systems, instrumentation amplifiers and switching applications.

The DG408EUE can be used in audio/video applications in which it can be used to switch between analog video signals such as RGB, NTSC/PAL and S-Video, as well as audio signals such as stereo, mono and mono to 4 channel audio.

Additionally, the DG408EUE can be used in telecom applications for controlling communication channels, such as switching and routing between VoIP and PSTN, switching and routing of TDM data, and signaling and control of 4G/LTE networks.

Working Principle

The DG408EUE multiplexer is an IC device that has switching functions and can gate analog signals between external pins of the IC. It consists of 8 analog input pins, 4 control pins and 4 output pins.

The DG408EUE has a common mode impedance of up to 50ohm. It has very low power consumption (operating current of 0.4uA) and is provided with a common-mode voltage of 1.2V to 8V.

The 4 control pins provide the signals for the multiplexer, which determines which input pin is connected to the output pin. The multiplexer\'s output contains a common-mode voltage which can be adjusted by the control pins. Each control pin provides 2 bits of the control signal.
