Working Principle

The DIRTSP82110A is based on the principle of monitoring the current flowing through a loop circuit. It accepts an AC, DC or a combination of these signals (AC+DC) as input and measures the current passing through the loop by measuring the voltage drop across a sensing resistor. The input signals can be scaled to provide monitoring of both current and voltage. The current or voltage setpoints can then be adjustable using rotary knobs.

The measured current or voltage is compared to the setpoints, and if the measured value exceeds the setpoints an alarm or trip signal is activated. The DIRTSP82110A also contains two relays that can be used to activate on/off switching, alarms or trips.

This device is also capable of logging the measured current or voltage values for diagnostics and can display the measured value on a digital display. The DIRTSP82110A is also designed with built-in protection features that prevent the equipment from over current, over-voltage, floating voltage and over-temperature conditions.
