DM164120-3

The DM164120-3 is a low-power embedded platform designed for the development, testing, and evaluation of various microcontroller (MCU) and digital signal processing (DSP) applications. This evaluation board was designed by Texas Instruments and is based on the TI MSP430G2553 MCU. The MSP430G2553 is an ultra-low power 16-bit RISC architecture-based MCU featuring a wide range of peripherals ideal for low power, portable applications.

Due to the low power and efficiency characteristics associated with the MSP430G2553, the DM164120-3 evaluation board is well-suited to a variety of power-sensitive applications that require stringent optimization requirements. The DM164120-3 can be programmed using the MSP430G2553 MCU via code Composer Studio or IAR Embedded Workbench versions. Additionally, the board can be programmed with the TI Code Generation Tools, including the MSP430 GCC compiler. The board also has configurable test points and an RS-232 serial connector.

The DM164120-3 features an 8-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) as well as an 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC). It also includes two SPI communication channels, two I2C channels, a UART serial port, as well as two 32-bit timers. The USB2.0 Full-Speed interface of the MSP430G2553 makes the evaluation board compatible with a wide range of PC monitoring and debugging software packages.
