Film capacitors are a type of electrical capacitors which use a thin dielectric film as the insulation layer between the two plates.  These capacitors use films such as polypropylene, poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) or polyester as the dielectric. They are typically small size, have a low cost, and have high dielectric constant values, making them ideal for applications such as power supplies, signal filters and signal coupling.DME2P56K-F is a specific type of film capacitors which is manufactured by Epcos. This type of capacitor used a polyproylene dielectric and has a wide temperature range. It comes in a variety of different sizes, shapes, and voltages. It has an extremely low ESR (equivalent series resistance) value, making it ideal for high-frequency applications with fast switching.The DME2P56K-F capacitor is most commonly used in switch mode power supplies, filters, AC/DC converters and other high frequency AC applications. For example, it can be used in situations such as high-frequency AC ripple suppression, AC waveform shaping, EMI/RFI suppression and dynamic braking.
