Class-D audio amplifiers represent a major break-through in audio-audio technology. These digital amplifiers are much more efficient than traditional Class-A and Class-AB amplifiers, because they operate by switching the output current on and off rapidly, thus reducing power losses associated with traditional designs. The result is a reduced power requirement, increased efficiency and improved sound quality. The DRF1400 is a two-channel stereo amplifier with a single power supply connection. Additionally, the DRF1400 features a “safe mode” which limits the maximum output for added system security.
