DS1245AB-70 is a Nonvolatile SRAM module from Dallas Semiconductor, which was manufactured witha 170 mil SOIC package and a 16 pins lead. This SRAM module is able to run up to 14 MHz with a 15 ns access time, and has a 32K static RAM Chip and Nonvolatile EEPROM on-board. The Nonvolatile SRAM module is a combination of a static RAM, which is powered by a lithium battery, and a EEPROM that holds back-up information over an extended period of time when power is removed.

The DS1245AB-70 Nonvolatile SRAM are being widely used across industries. Operation Principle
The Nonvolatile SRAM module operates is designed to ensure reliable data retention in static RAM while key system voltages are off. The static RAM portion of the module is a true static RAM storage array and is read/write capable. When the SRAM write cycle is initiated, a small amount of data will be stored in the EEPROM. When the cycle is complete, the SRAM and EEPROM each contain identical information. The lithium battery manages the SRAM space and provides backup data storage when the system power is removed. If a power failure occurs, or the system is switched off, the data stored in the SRAM is automatically transferred to the EEPROM. Upon power up, the data stored in the EEPROM is then automatically loaded into the SRAM for quick access.
The DS1245AB-70 Nonvolatile SRAM module can store static data over an extended period of time and still be powered off of a single 3V battery due to its low power operation. This integrated system also allows for data retention when the system power is off and re-powered with no additional software required. The module is also available in Industrial Temperature Range (IEC Standard) for a variety of applications that requires a wider dynamic range of temperatures than commercial grade devices.
