The whole device is controlled by an 8-bit processor (CPU), which controls all the functions inside the device. The CPU reads and stores the data in the memory banks, such as the 64-kbit memory chips, 8-kbit EEPROM, 32-byte SRAM chip and RTC. The processor is clocked at 4MHz with an external RC oscillator and provides a pulse-width modulation (PWM) output which is compatible with the Power Control bus (PCB). The PCB bus can be used for controlling the power supply of external modules. The device also has an 8-bit interrupt controller with an additional non-maskable interrupt (NMI) input.
