The DS1708SEUA+T&R Supervisors offers a robust monitoring capability for efficient system power management. This versatile device serves as the interface between a system power button, system power-on reset, and watch-dog timer. It further supports an active low push-pull output that provides a "level-sense" input function for an external clock. With these functions it allows for efficient system communication with the processor and other peripherals.The DS1708SEUA+T&R supervisors work by providing immediate reset and power management features. By monitoring the power and reset line, the chip is able to detect any abnormality, like power fail and supply voltage under-voltage, effectively and quickly. The main chip is capable of generating a reset signal and providing a low-level output signal when the power line is in the correct range. Also, in order to detect improper sequences of power-on, the DS1708SEUA+T&R chip is able to detect whether the sequence is a power-off, power-on or power-cycle.The device also supports a watchdog timer that waits until a certain amount of time has passed before resetting the system.
