At this time, the microprocessor is then held in reset by the chip until the predefined reset timeout is met or the VCC recovers.

The chip also provides two other power management features to help optimize battery utilization. Firstly, it can be used to monitor the voltage on the supply rails with a minimum up/down time period set by the user via a logic pin that provides a configurable reset response to supply voltage changes. Secondly, it can be used to monitor the system temperature to ensure that the junction temperature does not exceed a specific threshold.
