The DS1834AS+ series of supervisory circuits are intended to provide reliable system reset and supply-monitoring functions, allowing device parameter and application-specific requirements to be met with minimal component count.

The DS1834AS+ provides a three-state reset output, reset enable and power-on reset circuits. The three-state reset output allows a system reset signal to be distributed to multiple devices. The reset enable input can enable or suspend reset timing and the power-on reset circuit resets the system upon system start-up.

The DS1834AS+ series of supervisory circuits offers reset options for multiple reset TTL-compatible push buttons, printed circuit board test points and other sources. In addition, the DS1834AS+ offers two preset thresholds which are used to set a minimum acceptable voltage threshold to indicate proper power-up, safe operation and reset timing. The DS1834AS+ also features a pulsed reset indicator to indicate the status of the reset signal.

The DS1834AS+ series of supervisory circuits are available in a small 8-pin SOIC package for space-constrained applications, as well as a 20-pin DIP package for more general-purpose applications. The reset outputs are open-drain and can be connected to LEDs, relays and/or other systems.

The working principle of the DS1834AS+ series of supervisory circuits is simple. The preset minimum voltage thresholds are used to monitor the power supply voltage, while the reset enable input can be used to suspend or enable reset timing.
