DS2120E/T&R Application Field and Working PrincipleToday, the digital signal transmission technology has been applied to almost every domain, and it has also increased people’s living quality in a certain extent. In order to reduce the additional complexity on the signal transmission system, engineers are always researching the function integration and signal transmission devices, such as the DS2120E/T&R from Dialog Semiconductor.The DS2120E/T&R is a kind of signal terminator with features of high flexibility, low cost, small packaging and easy to use. The high speed digital filtered pulse isolation receiver consists of a DC-biased thin film resistor, a low pass LC filter and low voltage quad differential lines input & output.The DS2120E/T&R receives the input signal from per channel, and the output current (or voltage) of DS2120E/T&R is calculated according to the input signal frequency. The calculated output current is then connected to a desired amplifier circuit, allowing the signal to be sent to the designated device.The working principle of the DS2120E/T&R is very simple. First, the encoder and isolator work together to convert the input signal into a modulation signal which is then sent to the receiver. Then, the modulation signal is filtered by the LC filter and output by the differential line. Finally, the output signal is amplified by a power or driver and then sent to the next device.Signal transmission in industrial and commercial applications is highly dependent on the strength, accuracy, and noise immunity of a converter.
