Memory technology is an integral part of many embedded applications, from digital photography to biotechnology. DS2505+ is an advanced NAND flash memory product from Maxim Integrated, providing nonvolatile storage for embedded products. To prevent the charge from dissipating, the chip is equipped with Error Correction Coding (ECC) to detect and correct any errors in the data.
The DS2505+ controller is also powered by the host device. The controller includes both a low-power clock and a loadable register configurable for maximum clock, program and erase frequencies. The DS2505+ features a 200 MHz Enhanced Memory Core, allowing the device to process transactions faster than standard NAND Flash memories. Additionally, the chip can support two memory packaging styles adjustable in size from 4KB to 128KB: PD-NAND and HyperBus, increasing I/O performance. This allows for higher throughput, faster data transfer and lower power consumption.
