The DS850DC-3 is one of the many DC-DC converters available with many different features and functions available to suit almost any application.The DS850DC-3 is a 48V DC-DC Converter module designed to convert a supplied 48 volt DC input voltage to 3.3V, 0.9V, 1.25V and 2.5V regulated output voltages over a wide input voltage range with very low output ripple and noise. The output voltages can be set precisely by adjusting the on-board voltage adjuster. The output power of the DS850DC-3 is up to 80 Watts, making it suitable for applications such as broadcasting, telecom, medical equipment, networks and other industrial applications that require high power and precise voltage regulation.The DS850DC-3 features a full range of protections including Output Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Input Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Short Circuit Protection (SCP), Input Reverse Voltage Protection (RVP) and Output Current Limiting (CL). The wide input voltage range of 8.5~60V makes it ideal for applications where the input voltage often fluctuates or needs to regulate to other voltage levels.The DS850DC-3 is based on a closed-loop design, using an on-board pulse width modulator (PWM) to ensure high conversion efficiency ranging from 80% to 95%, depending on the input voltage level. The use of a PWM controller also means that the DS850DC-3 provides very low output ripple and noise of 1.0mVp-p (0.15mV RMS) making it ideal for low noise applications.The DS850DC-3 has two different modes of operation, PWM mode and pulse skipping mode. In PWM mode, the PWM is used to regulate the output voltage by adjusting the duty cycle, while in pulse skipping mode the converter operates in an efficient burst mode system. Both modes are designed to ensure high efficiency over a wide input voltage range.The DS850DC-3 also features an On/Off controllable feature, allowing users to enable/disable the output voltage, making it ideal for applications with extended hold-up time requirements.
