Working Principle:

The DS90LV047ATMX/DRPB consists of two LVDS drivers/receivers with low power, low noise and low cost design. The transmitter includes a latched Low Voltage Differential Signal (LVDS) data driver with differential outputs. Data is written to the DPIC register, which is in turn presented to the differential data outputs. The receiver includes a single low power differential LVTTL input. The device is powered by single 3.3V supply or dual 3.3V supplies to provide any level of output current over a wide temperature range. The receiver features quality edge rate control, with low bit-error-rate performance.

The LVDS standard is an extension of the Low Voltage Input/Output (LVI/O) standard which enables the development of a variety of high-performance driver/receiver pairs with improved data rate and power dissipation performance. This standard is based on a 100 Ohm differential signaling system and enables data rate up to 3.125 Gbps. An important feature of LVDS is that the pair does not contain a receiver because it does not monitor the receiver itself but receives information as differential signals.

The LVDS standard has two main advantages when compared to other standards: low energy dissipation and high data rates.
