Working Principle

The DS92LX2122SQX/NOPB uses a 6.144 Gbps serial data stream to transmit 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet frames from a Mackintosh (MSA) interface or a GMII/MII interface. The incoming data is serialized and transmitted at a rate of 6.144 Gbps. The transmit clock and data are recovered from the incoming data stream, serdes line code is enabled and the transmitter preemphasis is enabled.

The device includes an integrated clock and data recovery block, to generate recovered transmit and receiver clocks, and align the data with the receiver descrambler. The device stores 24 bits of data in the data-receive scrambler’s memory at 6.144 Gbps. T he receiver also employs a 0.8V supply and operates at 6.144 Gbps, capturing 16 bit data into its data register. Additional features include data scrambling and descrambling, pattern compliance, and checker tests for data integrity.
