DSA1-16D

DSA1-16D is a type of diodes - rectifiers - single which are designed for use in telecom power systems. DSA1-16D rectifiers offer a complete range of features including built-in protections for over-temperature and over-current. The diode is protected from short-circuit thanks to an integral thermal fuse. The rectifier is protected from reverse current thanks to its built-in avalanche diode.

The DSA1-16D rectifier can be used in a wide range of applications such as telecom base stations, remote access equipment, System-On-Chip (SOC) protection, Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), local communications hubs and power-on-command applications.

Working Principle

DSA1-16D diodes - rectifiers - single use a three-phase bridge configuration to convert AC power to DC power. The rectifier is designed for use with both 50Hz and 60Hz frequencies. The device uses four silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs) which are connected across each phase in a three-phase network. The SCRs are triggered at the positive peak of the input AC waveform and conduct during the positive half cycles of each phase.

The bridge configuration ensures that each SCR conducts current in the same direction, creating a DC output. This output is then filtered and fed to the load. The output voltage of the rectifier is typically regulated using an internal voltage regulator or by an external voltage regulator.

The rectifier is protected from overcurrent conditions by a thermal fuse which opens when the temperature of the rectifier exceeds its rated operating temperature. It is also protected from reverse current conditions by an integral avalanche diode which protects the internal circuit from any transient voltages.
