A DTD513ZETL is a single, pre-biased, bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT). It is a three terminal electronic semiconductor device that is used to switch electronic signals & current Flow. The DTD513ZETL is one of a group of transistors called the Darlington transistors which are constructed from two individual transistors in a single package. The two transistors are electronically connected in series to produce amplification and gain more current to the base, collector & emitter terminals.

The DTD513ZETL is also called an NPN transistor because there are three terminals; an emitter, base and collector, located at the source of the aspect of the transistor. The NPN stands for the negative, positive & negative parts of the charging relationship. Transistors are designed to stay off or on when the current reaches a certain level. When the current rises, the transistor is activated and a current will flow through the circuit. The amount of current is determined by the amount of charge in the base-collector junction.
