ECA-1CM222 is one of the aluminum electrolytic capacitors. It is designed to be operated with high temperature, high current, low temperature and low current applications.

The ECA-1CM222 capacitor features an energy-saving design, an optimized cell structure and a very low ESR, making it suitable for use in high frequency and high ripple current applications. This specific aluminum electrolytic capacitor has a low profile of just 22.5mm, a high-performance electrolyte, superior capacitance and a wide range of operating temperature/voltage/ absorption time. It also has a maximum service temperature of 125°C and an operating temperature range of -40ºC to +85ºC. The maximum recommended ripple current is 1A.

The working principle of the ECA-1CM222 is simple but effective. First, a positive and a negative electrode is connected to an electrolyte solution. A voltage applied across the terminals of the electrodes separates it into two poles. The ions from the electrolyte solution travel across the dielectric material placed between the electrodes, resulting in the formation of a space charge. This, in turn, forms a layer of electric dipole moments and the capacitor stores the electric charge.

ECA-1CM222 aluminum electrolytic capacitors can find application mostly in high-end and commercial audio equipment. They are also used in power and signal filtering, signal coupling, signal bypassing and in high frequency AC to DC conversion.
