The main types of ECAs vary between: aluminum electrolytic capacitors with screw terminals (2CM2R2I), high voltage aluminum electrolytic capacitors (2HV2R2I), and aluminum electrolytic snap-in capacitors (2CI2R2I) – with other types of ECAs existing as well.

The 2CM2R2I aluminum electrolytic capacitor is designed with a built-in connection terminal, made from a rugged combination of aluminum, copper, and plated steel. It provides excellent mechanical contact and performance stability. Furthermore, its screw terminals require virtually no effort to assemble onto a board – a feature which makes 2CM2R2I capacitors a popular and cost-effective solution.

2CM2R2I aluminum electrolytic capacitors are typically used as EMI (electromagnetic interference) filters, in audio systems and power supplies, voltage methods, and other electronics applications. 2CM2R2I ECAs also provide increased reliability, high-energy storage, and greater vibration resistance than other types of capacitors.
