Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are electronic components which are widely used in portable electronic systems, power conversion systems and other electronic applications. The anodic aluminum oxide layer is made using pure aluminum which offers superior corrosion resistance and no leakage current. The working principle of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is based on the Faraday effect. In the Faraday effect, an electric field is induced when a voltage is applied to a metal oxide film. The electrons flow across the oxide film, creating an electrical charge, which results in a capacitance.
