The anode and cathode sections are then formed in the latter stages of the manufacturing process. The anode is connected to the external terminals on either side of the capacitor and the cathode is connected to the same terminals on the inside of the device.Apart from being highly reliable, one of the main advantages of aluminum electrolytic capacitors is their low equivalent series resistance (ESR). The ECE-A1CKG101 offers a range of values from 0.5mΩ to 5mΩ for both high temperature and general purpose applications. This low ESR ensures minimal losses, resulting in higher energy efficiency and higher ripple current ratings.The ECE-A1CKG101 is designed to work on direct current, or DC, voltage supplies. As soon as the capacitor is connected to a DC supply, a layer of aluminum oxide is formed between the anode and cathode sections, which is a dielectric layer. The electric potential on either side of the dielectric causes it to become charged, creating a stored charge in the capacitor. When a load is connected to the terminals, this stored charge is discharged into the load, delivering the desired electrical energy.Furthermore, the ECE-A1CKG101 also has a relatively high capacitance rating, which can range from 1µF to 150µF.
