Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are a type of capacitor which employs a material with a very high dielectric constant to store electrical charge. They consist of two metal plates separated by an electrolyte (or dielectric) medium which can be either a liquid or an ionic crystal. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are among the most widely used capacitors. Capacitance values range from 1µF to 1000µF with working voltage ratings of up to 1000 volts.

The ECE-V1AA221XP is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor. It is a non-polarized capacitor and is available with a 220µF capacitance rating at an operating voltage of 16VDC. It has a maximum leakage current of 0.2µA and an ESR rating of 20mΩ. This product is available in a variety of packages including axial leaded, radial leaded and surface mounted.
