Among all types of capacitors, Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors (AECs) have the largest capacitance value compared with other capacitors, such as Ceramic Capacitors or Film Capacitors.

The EEA-GA1C330 is one type of Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors. It has two circular aluminum terminals, and is insulated with rubber for anti-shocking purposes. The typical application field of the EEA-GA1C330 is in power supplies, mobile phones and audio-visual equipments.

The working principle of the EEA-GA1C330 as an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is actually very simple. When a potential is applied between two terminal electrodes, two electrochemical reactions occur at opposite sides of the dielectric material – aluminum oxide. The anode produces oxygen and the cathode produces aluminum ions.

The oxygen molecules and aluminum ions react with each other, forming a thin layer of aluminum oxide. The electric field across the aluminum oxide layer is reduced, which allows a reasonable level of electric current to flow between the two electrodes. This electric current is then stored in the form of an electric double layer at the inner surface of the aluminum oxide.

The EEA-GA1C330 can also be used in frequency compensation circuits and filtering. The dielectric material in the capacitor has very low parasitic capacitance, which can help reduce noise and distortion of the electrical signals in the circuit.
