Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are the most common type of electronic capacitor. As their name implies, they are composed of two aluminum electrodes immersed in an electrolytic solution. The two electrodes are separated by a layer of oxide that prevents electricity from travelling between them. The two electrodes, as well as the electrolyte, serve to increase the capacitance of the device, allowing it to store more energy than a plain aluminum plate alone.

EEA-GA1V150H is a type of Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor which is widely used in various applications, such as DC power supplies, signal filters and tone control circuits. The amount of charge stored in the capacitor is determined by the ratio of the area of the electrodes, to the dielectric thickness. An increase in either will increase the capacitance of the device. The EEA-GA1V150H employs a large number of small-size electrodes, with a low thickness dielectric, thus allowing it to store more charge than conventional aluminum electrolytic capacitors.
