Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

An aluminum electrolytic capacitor, also called an aluminum electrochemical capacitor, is an electrolytic capacitor that uses an aluminum-based electrolyte. It typically consists of two aluminum foils separated by a paper or plastic film, which act as the electrodes. The foil is then soaked in an alkaline electrolyte solution, which forms an oxide layer on the surface of the foil. This oxide layer acts as an insulating layer and prevents oxidation of the electrolyte. The capacitance of the aluminum electrolytic capacitor ranges from a fraction of a microfarad to thousands of microfarads.
