The EEE-HP1E100P capacitor has a radial leaded package and is rated to operate at temperatures between -55°C to +105°C, a voltage of 6.3V~25V, and a capacitance of 100uF. It is used for power supply circuit filtering and decoupling in various applications such as computer motherboards, IR LED, LCD backlight, LED lighting, VR control box, PDP control boards, amplifiers, ovens, household appliances, HIFI and more. It also often used for hold-up circuits, energy storage, and is suitable for low frequency or high frequency circuits.

Working Principle

An aluminum electrolytic capacitor consists of two electrodes—an anode (or positive electrode) and a cathode (or negative electrode). The anode of the capacitor is made of an aluminum foil that is coated with a thick layer of a pure oxide layer, through which a gas and liquid electrolyte is passed. This layer provides a very high electrical surface area. The cathode is made of a conductive foil. This foil is in contact with the electrolyte.The volume between the two electrodes is filled with a liquid and/or gas electrolyte that acts as a ionic connection between the two electrodes. A potential difference is applied across the two electrodes, resulting in the migration of ions in the electrolyte. This causes electrons to flow from the anode to the cathode, forming an electric current.The capacitance of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor is typically 1000 times greater than that of a ceramic capacitor. This is because aluminum offers higher surface area than comparable thickness and width of any other material.
