Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are currently one of the widely used types of capacitors. The structure features an electrolytic anode formed by vapor deposition of an oxide film on the surface of an aluminum base. Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are mostly cylindrical, and are classified into four categories by the structure of their terminals and their capacitance range. The EEE-TK1A332AM is an example of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor. It has dual radial leaded construction shaped in “Snap-in” terminals and its capacitance ranges from 1µF to 470µF. Furthermore, this capacitor has a working temperature range between -40°C to +125°C and a voltage rating of 50V. The dissipation factor of this capacitor is 6%. Due to its wide range of features, the EEE-TK1A332AM capacitor can be used in a number of different applications. The most common field is in power supplies, where its features allow for filtering and bypassing operations.The working principle of a capacitor is based on the electric charge. When a voltage potential is applied between its two electrodes, an electric current begins to flow from one electrode to the other electrode. As the electric current begins to flow, an electric charge begins to accumulate on both of the electrodes. This accumulates in the form of an electrical field, which causes an increase in the capacitance. In aluminum electrolytic capacitors, the two terminals are placed with the electrode band between them. One of the terminals, the cathode, is connected to an external power supply and a current begins to flow through the capacitor. The other terminal, the anode, is connected to the cathode through an electrolyte which acts as an insulator. When the current passes through the electrolyte, an electric charge is developed between the two electrodes and the capacitor starts to store the charge as a result of the electric field. The electric field created provides a very high capacitance and as a result, it can be used for a wide range of applications.The EEE-TK1A332AM is a great example of an aluminum electrolytic capacitor as it has a wide range of features such as a wide temperature range, a high voltage rating, and a high capacitance.
